How Do We Coach for Golf Performance Using The
Titleist Performance Institute “TPI”
Level 1 Screen
The TPI Level 1 Screen looks at your movement and golf swing to better understand your body, your golf swing, and how the two of these improve and support the other!
Consistent with the TPI Philosophy, SAW Health and Performance believes that there is not one way to swing a club, but rather an infinite number of swing styles. In this case, there is one primarily efficient style for each person based on what they can physically do. In order to find and/or support this swing style, individualized screening must take place that considers the following components:
- Physical Fitness
- Movement Quality and Impairments
- Swing Mechanics
- Health History
Following this screening, conducted in 1:1 Coaching alongside other selected assessments, every client at SAW Health and Performance receives a fully tailored program designed to meet their specific needs and goals. Additionally, they benefit from continuous access to their coach, who adapts and advances their workout program based on changes in status and improvements over time!
Specializing in the physical fitness, conditioning, and injury prevention/management aspects of golf performance, SAW Health and Performance understands the importance of a comprehensive support network. Because of this, we encourage a collaboration with any golf professional clients may be working with to ensure a holistic approach to achieving excellence in golf.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Is This Screen Performed?
At SAW Health and Performance, clients receive this screen virtually. In-person screens are also offered to clients located in/near NW Ohio.
How much does a Level 1 TPI Screen cost?
Screens are offered free with a 1:1 Coaching plan as a primary component of the service. Level 1 Screens are also able to be scheduled and performed separate from 1:1 Coaching Plans for a cost of $100.00 per screen.
Contact Us if you are interested in setting up a Level 1 Screen separate from 1:1 Coaching.
Is a virtual fitness screen as insightful as one done in person?
Yes! There are particular challenges to using a virtual platform for a physical assessment. We leverage strong skillsets in communication, demonstration, and experience to provide a top quality screen that mirrors what we demand with all of our services at SAW Health and Performance.
How Does the Screen Measure My Performance?
The TPI Screen assigns a “Golf Fitness Handicap” value to the results of every movement assessment. Similar to actual golf handicaps, the lower this number, the better tuned the individual’s body is for their golf performance – and vice-versa.
The goal is to see decreases in this number over time.
